long time listener first time caller, i used this 1926 frame as my varry first 3d printed project. i lernt quite a bit from this and the short handle makes it good for saving a few hours on all the failed prints. the mag catch holes printed kinda small and required a lot of hand file work but i did get it reliable after a bit and went out to the range, 60 rounds down and no failures after i got the mag catch fiddled correctly. now that I've proven i can to myself i plan to do the usw at home with this kit
Looks really good! You definitely seem to know what you're doing, but make sure that your printer is properly calibrated, especially on the z axis. The magazine catch should drop right in, so if it needed a bunch of filing, I'm curious if your z axis is printing a tiny bit shorter than spec. But great results otherwise!
Here we are 2 weeks later with Salma sporting some proper sights,12rnd Magpul mags for $10 apiece and a little backplate flourish for my first ghost gat. Round count is near 200 without any problems except for my mag release, or the new mags getting knocked by the trigger bar, or my fat thumbs hitting the release - and one other mostly insignificant flaw: the printed wall by the takedown lever and spring that holds the rear of the recoil spring rod is a bit too fat, but I'm guessing it was a design choice? fatter equals more material equal more integrity, right? It only forces the recoil spring to stick out, flush with the length of the barrel, and…
I banged one of these out for my first build ever Booligan, none of my friends understand it but I think it's fucking awesome, better than all my expectations - and after careful remote tests and meticulous sciency stuff I put over a hundred rounds through it Day 1 (latter half of that rapid-fire) with zero errors, none. No warps no dents or scuffs, even behind the recoil spring, even the ironing all along the slide surfaces was totally intact after (printed rails-up.) Phenomenal work man, truly. It's absolutely solid. As for the name.... How 'bout the BlasterKey? or the Hayek... you know, short, top-heavy, badass?
